Royal Treasures in University Archives
Find digitized photos and video clips of “The Queen’s Game”
Upon learning of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the University of Maryland Libraries recall the Queen's once-in-a-lifetime 1957 visit to campus, as documented in the University Archives. The Queen watched the Terps defeat the North Carolina Tar Heels in what came to be known as “The Queen’s Game.” You can find pictures, video clips, and other digitized material from the Queen’s Game in our digital collections.
The Queen’s Game is just one of a multitude of historical UMD events you can research in the University Archives. For more information about archival and historical materials in the Libraries, please visit or contact Special Collections & University Archives.
