Special Collections and University Archives Materials in Offsite Storage
Due to limited space in Hornbake Library, some archival and book collections are housed in an offsite storage facility. These collections are open for research and may be requested by researchers.
Please allow up to 4 business days for any of these materials to be delivered to the Maryland Room for your research. Special Collections and University Archives staff will notify you if a request you placed includes offsite materials.
How to Request Materials Located in Offsite Storage
While searching the Libraries' online catalogs, you might discover a book or periodical that is located at Severn Library, our high-density storage facility. If that item belongs to Special Collections or University Archives, you must place a request for the item using your Special Collections Account. These items, like all items in Special Collections and University Archives, do not circulate.
The requested item(s) will be available for you to use in the Maryland Room of Hornbake Library 4 business days after placing your request.
