You may request any circulating item from any campus or USMAI library through the catalog, whether it is on the shelf or checked out. Items on hold in the McKeldin Library are now located behind the Library Services Desk.

Patrons without a valid USMAI card may request materials housed in Severn Library using the Severn Request form.

Uborrow is a service of the Big Ten Academic Alliance (Big Ten). You can search for and request print books directly from 15 major university libraries and the Center for Research Libraries, with combined collections of more than 90 million volumes.
UMD Affiliated patrons can borrow materials and request articles from journals from thousands of libraries that are not in the USMAI system.
Patrons affiliated with UMD can request electronic copies of articles owned in print by the University Libraries through Scan & Deliver when an electronic copy is preferred.
