Svetla Baykoucheva is the Chemistry and Life Sciences Librarian. She holds a BS and MS in Chemistry, a PhD in Microbiology, and a library degree. For many years, she performed research in biochemistry and microbiology. She later served as a manager of the American Chemical Society's Library & Information Center in Washington, D.C. and head of the UMD's White Memorial Chemistry Library. Svetla teaches chemical information and bibliographic management. She has published more than 40 articles in peer review journals, many other articles, and a book, "Managing Scientific Information and Research Data" (Elsevier, 2015). Her current research interests are focused on information literacy, management of scientific information, and scientific communication.
